There are three identity verification methods, the first two being automated, while the third relies on a manual process.
Facial Accreditation
Candidates are prompted to take a selfie, and photo of their government issued identification (driver’s license, passport, etc.) A comparison of the two will determine if they are identical, and the ID will be scanned and compared with the details entered on the consent form. Candidates unable to undergo verification through this method are seamlessly redirected to the Manual Identity Verification (IDV) process.
Knowledge Based Verification
This alternative verification method is also known as electronic identity verification (EID). Canadian credit bureaus provide personal questions via short questionnaire to verify candidates' identity. Candidates unable to undergo verification through this method are seamlessly redirected to the Manual Identity Verification (IDV) process.
Manual Identity Verification
To ensure a secure and accurate identification process, candidates are required to upload two government-issued identification documents. The file requestor then verifies the candidate's identity through a video call (e.g., Zoom, FaceTime) or in-person meeting. If the candidate has already spoken with the file requestor, the search requestor can also use that interaction to verify the candidate's identity.

How do I verify a candidate's identity once they have uploaded their identification?
Step 1: Login to your screening services account and click on the candidate name to open their file and scroll down to the section called Identity Verification – Manual.
Step 2: Select Verified from the drop-down menu to verify their identity. Select Not Verified if you refuse identify verification for this candidate.
Step 3: Once you have made your selection, please add your signature in the box below the drop-down menu and click ACCEPT.
